I made this video work based on the John Archibald Wheeler’s theory of “participatory universe”. The theory of “participatory universe” comes from “anthropic principle”, which means that the universe is created by our observations. Wheeler said that the world, we call it “reality”, is a information assembled by “bit”. Every particle, field force like gravity or nuclear power,and even the space time, all of them derive from one of two choices: yes or no, on or off, 0 or 1, by an gigantic computer’s huge amount of simulation. And they behave discretely, not continuously. According to the holographic principle, the universe is a “depicted” 2-D information structure on the surface of horizon, but when we observed, it changes to the 3-D image displayed by holograms. In other words, the existence which has been worshiped as a “god” may be a great “programmer”.
